PhD Preparation & Assignment Writing
For students facing the challenge of studying for a PhD, the process can be somewhat daunting. Initially, students are required to apply to the university and justify why they should be accepted for a PhD. Normally after the completion of the relevant paperwork the university will require the student to complete a pre-PhD application process or dissertation proposal in which the student will have to establish that they have the ability to write a PhD dissertation. Usually, this dissertation proposal will comprise of around 3 questions which will need to be carefully analyzed and answered. These questions are all different and address the different skill sets that are needed to study for a PhD, and normally run to around 50 to 70 pages.
It is at this point or ‘milestone’ that we can provide advice and support. Many PhD students ask us to craft the response to these questions. This is a critical process as acceptance into the PhD program depends on the university panel’s evaluation and assessment regarding how these questions are answered. It is at this junction in the entire process of studying for a PhD that some students simply give up. Our highly skilled and experienced writers can lift this off your shoulders and take on the responsibility of getting you accepted into the PhD program. If English is not your ‘mother tongue’ we can ensure that the high level of writing in English (including grammar and punctuation) demanded by a PhD program is maintained throughout the entire program.
One of the challenges posed when entering the initial stages of application is to understand the instructions, followed by interpretation, planning, research, formatting and completing the questions. Upon acceptance into the program we will advise the student regarding how all the milestones need to be tackled including what to expect from the panel of mentors although invariably one mentor is appointed into the role of supervisor so most of your communication is directed through that person. You have the option in choosing how much of the dissertation is undertaken by us and what part you want to play within this process. A PhD is usually divided into 15 to 20 milestones and can be written over an 18 to 36 month period. In addition, upon completion of your dissertation, you will need to publish a manuscript. The Writing Clinic will be only too happy to assist and guide you in this latter stage of the program.
Many students ask that we explain each part of the program including how it is written and what content is relevant. The Writing Clinic is unique in that we offer a coaching and tutoring support so that you will learn and gain experience. In addition, you will be required to call your mentor regularly – it is during these phone conversations that they will ask questions and provide feedback. Our unique coaching and tutoring support will enable you to participate in these conversations with confidence. We will also encourage you to record these conversations and email them to us so that we can keep on top of each step of the PhD journey.
